1.Introduction to the Book of Genesis

The Book of Genesis is one of sixty-six books of the Holy Bible. The name Genesis means “beginnings.” In this book, we read about the beginning of everything. It deals with the beginning of creation, the beginning of sin, the beginning of family, the beginning of culture, the beginning of the Hebrew nation, etc.

The book records the beginning of everything, except it does not deal with the beginning of God because God has no beginning and no ending. In the beginning, God did not explain much about Himself and how He existed because the record of all that we read in the bible explains that He already exists. It is the same thing we do; if you are to write about your biography, you will mind less describing how you live because the fact that you are holding a pen is clear evidence of your existence.

The composition of the books of the bible is supernatural because sixty-six books were written by forty different men within a period of sixteen hundred years, in three other languages on different continents, and most of the authors never met for a discussion regarding the compilation of the books. The Bible never contradicts itself; it systematically focuses on a unified theme from Genesis to Revelation. God wrote the book by inspiring the writers.

Let’s start with the first verse of “A,” Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.” After reading the first verse, many people stop and criticize a scientific basis. It is hard to understand the bible if we stop and don’t mind the other portions. Now, the bible is not a science book. Scientists will find it hard to comprehend the bible because the author existed before them. The Bible is not a science book, but it proves accurate when it points to science-related issues. Let’s look at the book of Isaiah 40: 22: “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tenth to dwell in:” This was written when everyone in the whole world thought the world is round like a pancake. People will begin to ask how that can be true. Also, as we read in Isaiah 40, the world is not only a circle, but let’s also check Job 26:7: “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hanged the earth upon nothing.” Job further records that the world hangs on nothing. As we study it, we discover how true it is.

Up to this time, when spiritual leaders meet to respond to a sick patient after a diagnosis, both will have different perspectives. We once visited a friend who was mute in the hospital and shared with her the book of Luke, where a woman touched Jesus’ clothes and got healed. We began singing in the hospital ward, and as we started praying and making noise, the nurse on duty signaled to us to reduce our voices because we were disturbing the patient who may need to rest. After praying, we came outside, and in less than five minutes, one of the ladies rushed to us and said, “She can speak; she can speak.” What if we listened to the nurse? So Scientists and spiritualists are all important, but at a certain point, the Bible proves science is wrong. This also doesn’t mean science is always bad. Please, the spiritualists, I mean, are those in Christ because I know there is evil spirituality. Thanks 10:25
