6.What should be Christian Priorities?
We stopped talking about priorities and setting Jesus as a role model.
We ended at a point where some women who were worried about their children were told to pray about their children, and they were optimistic by words but not necessarily by taking action like most of us.
We saw that Jesus was always away from home, and when asked, He told His parents that He was doing His father’s business.
Today, let’s look at a situation where your parents may ask you about what you are doing and is in line with God’s will; tell them you are doing what your Father in heaven requires.
Most of us who grew up in Christian homes are dedicated and tell our parents, “Mum, Dad, you showed me pictures of when Pastor so and so was dedicating me to God; what you are seeing me do is the meaning of my dedication.”
And if you are a parent and your children are dedicated to God and are getting spoiled, draw their attention, and if possible, show them their pictures or videos of dedication and what it means.
We can’t deceive you; to be honest, living without God is absolutely useless. Life without God reminds me of a woman buying firewood, paying for it, and transporting it by paying a transport fee, only to burn it.
Satan can buy you and take you home. Do you know that when you buy a chicken from Kampala, take it to Juba, and reach somewhere, you give the chicken grain, and the chicken may think, “Wow, I am loved; he is feeding me.” But the Chicken is not aware that it’s Christmas season and will soon be slaughtered.
Satan, as he told Jesus, is temporarily controlling the world, making you temporarily rich, feeding you physically, and on the last day, you find yourself in Hell with him.
Jesus, in Matthew 10, said He brought division amidst families and taught us that we should know our priorities and how to explain why! In this context, He is experiencing the same thing.
Let us use this family disorder to Minister; your explanation can have positive spiritual impartation.
Let’s imagine Jesus pointing to the crowd and saying, “You who do the will of my father are my family.” He was saying this as His family was also listening. The family will learn a lot! Note that Jesus said that this family is the greatest.
Jesus meant that He was not ready to follow His family home, but He invited them to come and join Him as He was with His family.
He also means He is the one to save this family, and His Mum, brothers, and sisters shouldn’t miss this opportunity, but they should come in.
If the family of Jesus were to know the priority, they would never interfere with His sermon but join and keep backing Him with several “Amens” and later even request Jesus to let them add a comment or so.
Let’s all join Christ’s family because in Christ personally, my past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I live by faith, lean on His presence, walk in His patience, live in prayer, and labor with power. My goal is the kingdom of God.
