What is Prayer?
Prayer is simply “talking to God.” It is different from meditation; it is directly talking to God. It is the human soul communicating with God, the creator of all souls. Prayer is primarily the way for a believer in Christ to speak his emotions and desires to God the Creator and fellowship with Him.
SHOULD PRAYER BE LOUD OR IN SILENCE?
Prayer can be loud, silent, private, public, formal or informal. Note the following keys during Prayer.
-Have faith James 1:6,
-Pray in Jesus name John 16:23
-Prayer should be inspired by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26). When we write a letter, we ensure the recipient’s address is always correct, and we check their contacts to ensure the information we send doesn’t go to the wrong person. To summarize the above points, prayer should be addressed to God as Father, in the name of Christ as Mediator, and through the enabling of the Holy Spirit who lives in believers. The wicked have no zeal to pray Psalm 10:4, but the children of God naturally have the desire to pray Luke 11:1.

-Prayer is pouring out one’s soul to the Lord 1 Samuel 1:15,
-Prayer is crying out to heaven 2 Chronicles 32:20,
-Prayer is drawing near to God Psalm 73:28
-Prayer is kneeling before the Father Ephesians 3:14.Christians are to pray about everything, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6–7.
Christ’s followers are to always “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer builds our relations with God and proves our trust and total dependence upon Him.
We pray to praise, thank, and show God how much we love Him. Through prayer, we enjoy God’s presence and tell Him what is happening in our lives. We pray to request and seek guidance and wisdom from God. God cherishes this exchange with His children, just as we communicate with our children. Fellowshipping with God through prayer is very vital.
In genuine prayers, we admit God’s greatness, and He knows our needs more than we do Romans 11:33–36. Our prime focus should be “Not my will, but you will be done.” 1 John 5:14–15; James 4:3.
Some Bible verses exhort prayers are Luke 18:1, Romans 12:12, and Ephesians 6:18. God’s house should be a house of prayer (Mark 11:17), and God’s people are to be prayerful (Jude 1:20–21).
