What is the Key To Victory? Day 1 of 2
Listener, today is the second day we are looking at a message titled “The Key to Victory.”
We read Exodus 17:9-16, where God instructed Moses to go to war with the Amalekites. Moses lifted his hands. The Israelites would do well, but the Amalekites would win when their hands got tired.
We said the Amalekites are the descendants of Esau, the older twin brother of Jacob. Esau is carnal, and Jacob represents Godliness as we struggle with two natures. So inside each believer, there’s Amalek’s side of you and Jacob’s side of you. Notice Paul says in Romans he’s struggling between two walls. The Amalekites, as descendants of Esau, represent the carnal nature that is in constant conflict with the godly nature represented by Jacob. This conflict is a spiritual struggle that each believer faces.
Let’s continue as we said: Amalekites were after God’s children and wanted to wipe them out.
Let’s go to Deuteronomy, “
Remember what the Amalekites did to you on your trip from Egypt. They attacked you when you were tired and killed all those who were lagging. They weren’t afraid of God. So when the Lord your God gives you peace from all your enemies around you in the land he is giving you as your property, don’t forget to erase every memory of the Amalekites from the earth.
Deuteronomy 25:17-19″
Many might think God created people and again allowed them to be killed, but as we read above, the Amalekites were and are a threat. Take note of the verse that says, “They don’t fear God.”
We all know the place of those who don’t fear God.
God is telling His children to wipe out the threat just like we believers need to get rid of our fleshly desires like prostitution, stealing, and adultery. What is wrong with fighting the wrong in you?
As the Israelites journey to the Promised Land, they must rid themselves of obstacles, just as we are journeying to heaven. We need to avoid Amalek friends who may block heaven for us. ‘Amalek friends’ are those who, like the Amalekites in the Bible, represent obstacles or temptations that can lead us away from our spiritual path. By the way, who doesn’t want heaven?
The Jews were in slavery; they were beaten in Egypt, hard labor, laying bricks, their baby boys were to be squeezed to death during labor,
Now God opened the way out, but the Amalekites attacked these Jews on their way to freedom, so what is wrong with dealing with them, Carnal Amalekites?
Listener, who are your Amalekites? Who is they who doesn’t want you to walk to freedom? Who is they who doesn’t want you to walk through the Red Sea, which God had parted by miracle for you? Who is that person who doesn’t want you to go to Church? Who is that person barring you from going to Canan? For us, it’s heaven! Reflect on this, and identify the obstacles in your life that are hindering your spiritual journey.
Fight that person if they refused your Canan way several times.
Listener God always gives time before wiping.
Do you know that Amalek attacks often come from behind after seeing you tired? Many times in our spiritual walk, we get tired and want to rest, which is when Amalekites attack. But remember, it’s in these moments of weariness that your perseverance is most needed. Stay strong and keep moving forward.
This often happens with those who, instead of Ministry, start telling stories of how long they’ve been on the journey. Out of nowhere, they’ll find the Amalekites bullet on their head!
” I baptized so and so.” “I traveled to 30 countries for conferences.” But is that preaching Christ?
By the way, do you know if a person who once was engaged in the Ministry starts to recall but not engage now, which is a sign of backsliding?
There is a difference between ” I Plant 30 Churches” and “Come to Jesus.”
When the flesh swells up, watch out. Be vigilant against spiritual complacency, as it can weaken your faith. Stay alert and keep your spiritual fire burning.
The safest positive is to be front and center and fully engaged.
Tomorrow, we will see how God laid His strategy using Moses and Joshua this time to attack instead of the Amalekites attacking from behind.
Thanks
